Eligibility & Requirements

  • Who is eligible to apply?
    • Must be a current resident of residing of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont or Rhode Island with proof of residency
    • Must be a US Citizen
    • Must be a high school senior (receiving diploma by June 2026)
    • Must be attending a 4 year, accredited non profit university
    • Planning to major in a STEM field or Journalism may apply
    • Students with a FAFSA score under 7500
  • Is there a minimum GPA requirement?
    • 3.0 minimum GPA requirement

The Application Process

  • Complete application form including short essays 
  • What documents do I need to submit? 
    • Official High School Transcript 
  • FAFSA Report indicating SAI (Student Aid Index)
  • 1 Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or counselor
  • 1 Optional additional Letter of Recommendation from a work supervisor, clergy or volunteer coordinator
  • When is the application deadline?
    • Application Deadline: May 15, 2026
  • Email completed application to [email protected] with subject line “Sherbridge Fund 2026 Application”

Financials & Award Details

  • Can the funds be used for things other than tuition?
    • Educational expenses only (tuition, books, on campus housing, lab fees, or a laptop)
    • If scholarship money is used for expenses that are not directly paid to your school are considered taxable (inlcuding but not limited to: food, off campus house, car or commuter expenses, etc.), and a 1099 will be issued at the end of the year.
  • Will this scholarship affect my other financial aid packages?
    • No. The supplemental Sherbridge Fund scholarship will not affect other aid you receive

Technical Support & Deadlines

  • Can I edit my application after submission?
    • No, you cannot edit your application after submission. Please ensure you proofread and finalize your information and essays before submission.
  • What if I miss the deadline?
    • You must submit your application by the deadline to be considered
  • Will I be notified?
    • Only students who are chosen for the scholarship will be notified. The volume of applicants will not permit us to respond to each individual applicants.
  • Who can I contact if I have technical issues with the application or website?

Please Note:

  • Scholarship recipients may be eligible for the Sherbridge Fund scholarship each year you work toward your 4 year degree.  You must meet GPA requirements to be eligible for years 2, 3, and 4 after year 1 is awarded.  GPA requirements are 3.0 for year one, 3.3 minimum GPA for years 2-4.  You will need to submit transcripts at the end of each year to re-qualify.
  • Sherbridge Fund retains the right to not award scholarships if it is determined that no qualified applicants are presented
